The Scarlett Fervor
A blog about nothing in particular. It's not educational or informative (well maybe a little bit?), nor does it use proper grammar/punctuation; but dear gawd, i hope it's entertaining.

It Has Come to My Attention...
That the number of unhealthy foods circulating the internet is growing. At first, I didn't mind it. The tumblrs dedicated to bacon everything, glorifying everything fried, they were comforts-

WTF Internet?! Wait, you're cool.
Cheers!
The internet I have discovered not too recently is a terrifying place. In its far recesses lurks unspeakable, strange depraved things. I remember one evening I was hanging out with Fred and one of his friends and midst our hapless clicking on Youtube unearthed a disturbing amount of unsightly videos for the likes of serial killers and Santorum supporters.

Innocence Stolen
This recent shooting of the innocent and incredibly young Trayvon Martin has opened up so many doors of discussion and unearthed many things that have been percolating under years and years of silence. One of my favorite things to emerge from these devastatingly real unfair, shameful, absurd murderous events, in this case race is discussed in terms of the Kony video that was posted on every facebook wall from Beijing to Sacramento is this piece by Teju Cole, who pointedly puts everything I've been thinking about race, about injustice and about the general mentality that's been scarily spreading like rapid-fire. And this guy put all of that in a beautifully written, comprehensible article for The Atlantic. It says all the things no one wants to admit and forces Americans to really come to terms with history and the present. I can't emphasis the importance of this article enough, and cannot be happier it was written.
I'm out.
I'm out.

Write Havoc
I've been thinking a lot about our part as citizens in this country and how incredibly apathetic Americans have been for over 50 years. Since then there have been baby steps toward banning together in an organized fashion to initiate change and demand respect, but most attempts fall short of getting people excited and then letting them down. What happened J? However, recently there has been an influx of passionate causes that are no longer sitting down and allowing for "whatever happens happens, man."
Oh, you know, it's like:

Occupy Wall St.,

Please Go Away Ice Cream Man
Spring is quickly approaching Brooklyn and I can tell, not because of the beautiful weather or the scantily clad teenagers or the constant jet stream of water frothing out of fire hydrants (alright, so that hasn't happened yet), but because of the ice cream man that has chosen his resting station outside of my apartment's living room so it's impossible to enjoy watching documentaries on furniture... or beer.
It's a good time.
Oh, you know, it's like:

Ok, So About What I Said Before... We're all doomed
Ok. Forget that post from before. We're all doomed. I want to stay positive about our generation but it's hard when my peers call Jersey Shore and How I Met Your Mother entertainment. Ok, so that last one is a personal aversion to the show. Anyway, as I've been going out and overhearing (eavesdropping) on conversations around my neighborhood I'm sad to say, there are quite a number of mindless, selfish morons midst the Y generation.
